Welcome to the Torrisholme Church of the Ascension Rambling Club website


The purpose of the Club is to promote fellwalking and a love and respect for the countryside.

We walk every alternate Saturday.

OUR NEXT WALK FROM THE WINTER PROGRAMME 2009/10

 

SATURDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2009

KESWICK – FULL DAY

A Walk will be led by Graham Dyson. I starts at Borrowdale Road in Keswick progresses to Ashness Bridge, over Ashness Fell to High Seat and Bleaberry Fell. It then descends over Low Moss to Wall Crag then Rakefoot and Springs Wood to Castlehead Wood viewpoint, continuing to Cockshot Wood and Crow Park to Keswick. 8 miles 2500 ft of ascent.
The B Walk, led by Madge and Ray starts at the Keswick theatre taking the shore path via Friars Crag to Calf Close Bay. It then enters Great Wood, climbs to Cat Gill and the summit of Walla Crag. The descent is via Rakefoot and Springs Wood returning to the Keswick Theatre over Castle Head. 6 miles with 1000 feet of ascent.

The C walk led by Sylvia Dyson starts at Ashness Bridge then follows the path below Falcon Crag and Walla Crag to the carpark at Great Wood. From there it crosses Borrowdale Road taking the lakeshore path to Keswick. 4 miles 700 ft of ascent.

RAMBLING WEEKENDS  

STOCKTON-ON-TEES WEEKEND 
24th - 26th April 2009

What a brilliant weekend we had with lovely weather and good walks every day.  The food was excellent and we finished off with an excellent meal at the A66 Motel on our way home.

Our next weekend away is to Llandrindod Wells in Wales, staying at the Glen Usk Hotel with plenty of places of interest in the surrounding area as well as excellent walking.
