Our next walks from the Summer Programme:

Saturday 18th August 2018

Our next walks from the summer programme will be on a full day, finishing at Glenridding on Saturday 18th August 2018.
The A walk will be led by David Hartley and starts from Glenridding leaving via the camp site to go around Moorside to follow the old pony track to the top of Whiteside, following the ridge over Lower Man and reaching the top of Helvellyn. We return on the same route, and towards the bottom we go past the old mine workings and back to Glenridding. 11 miles and 3,116 ft.
The B walk will be led by Charlie Overett and is a circular from Glenridding, following Glenridding Beck to a lane leading to the Glenridding footpath and the weir. We cross Glenridding Beck and start the ascent of Stang End and Lucy’s Tongue then to a footbridge to head northeast to Nick Head and Blea Bank Side. We then descent down Glen Coyne, passing Seldom Seen to cross the main road to pick up a lakeside path back into Glenridding. 7 miles and 1,700 ft of climb
The C walk will be led by Morag Bamber and is a linear starting from Dockray heading south along Aira Beck to Aira Force then the Ullswater Way and continues on well surfaced paths to Glencoyne Wood where we cross the A592 to join paths meandering beside Ullswater. On approaching Glenridding a path rises up to Rattlebeck Bridge and Gillside Caravan Site before descending along Glenridding Beck to the final destination at Glenridding Bridge. 5¼ miles with an accumulative height of 500 ft.
