Saturday 25th June 2016
Our next walks from the summer programme will be on a full day, finishing at Glenridding on Saturday 25th June 2016.
The ‘A’' walk will be led by David Hartley and starts from Lime Fitt caravan park with a gentle start for the first 4 miles slowly climbing past Long Green Head and alongside The Tongue before climbing up Scot Rake (Roman Road) which is steep but manageable, up onto Thornthwaite Crag and crossing over to Gary Crag where we descend to Hartsop walking on to Dubhow, Patterdale and finishing in Glenrridding. 11½ miles 2500' and 2 Wainwrights.
The 'B' walk will be led by Sylvia Dyson and will start at Cow Bridge on the A592 just north of Brotherswater. We then walk back for a short distance along the road to the village of Hartsop were we walk along the side of Hayeswater Gill to Hayeswater reservoir. From here we ascend to the ridge between The Knott and Rest Dodd were we turn north-east and walk along the ridge over Satura Crag and Buck Crag to Angle Tarn. We then pass just below Angle Tarn Pikes and Stony Rigg then Boredale Hause were we descend to Patterdale at Side Farm (ice creams) then a short walk along the road into Glenridding. 7 miles with 1800 feet of ascent.
The ’C’ walk will be led by Tom Hodgson and starts at Cow Bridge, Hartsop, walking round Brotherswater via Hartsop Hall, Hartsop and then following a low level path leading to Side Farm, Patterdale and into Glenridding. This is a flat walk of about 5½ miles.
PICKUP TIME: 9am from Torrisholme Church of the Ascension, Torrisholme
(Pickups commence from Heysham Towers at 8.45am)

3rd-10th October 2016
I have now arranged another holiday to Majorca for next year and have sent details to the 27 people who have paid their deposit.
We will be travelling with Jet2Holidays again and staying at the same hotel as in 2015. The price is £505 pp.
There are still one or two people who haven't yet sent me their passport details and I would be pleased if you could let me have these. A photocopy of your passport page is fine - either emailed or posted.
8th-12th April 2017
We are planning to go to Wewton-Super-Mare for next year's rambling holiday. This will be a 5 day holiday (Saturday to Wednesday) and the venue is the Anchor Head Hotel in the seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare.
If you would like to join us on our holiday, please complete the booking form which is presently being sent out to members and send, together with your cheque for £40pp to Linda Mountford, Treasurer.
This holiday is for all members, even if you do not wish to walk and we hope as many as possible will join us.
