Our last walks from the Summer Programme:

Saturday 13th October 2018

Our last walks from the summer programme will be on a full day, finishing at Hawes on Saturday 13th  September 2018.
The A walk will be led by David Hartley - and starts at Batty Moss Viaduct following the Moor Road until we reach the Roman Road at Holme Hill which takes us onto the Pennine Way and past Heator Pasture. This is a high level fast route taking us though the hills of Dodd Fell, Ten End and Rotten Stone Hill but not over them then down to Hawes. 12 miles and 1900 ft.
The B walk will be led by Sylvia and Graham Dyson, and starts at the junction of the A684 and the Hardraw Road, crossing fields to Hardraw and on to Low Shaw before taking the path under Low Clint to the road to Sweet Hill and turning East along Shivery Gill, over Pike Hill to North Rakes Hill. We then descend along Shutt Lane to Sedbusk and walk over fields to Hawes along Burnt Acres Road. 8½ miles and 1370 feet of ascent
The C walk will be led by Robin Bamber and is a linear walk starting from Bainbridge, following the River Ure at Yorebridge before heading west to follow the old dismantled Wensleydale Railway line to Old Cams House. The path then rises gradually across fields to reach Litherskew then levels out to Sedbusk. We decend south west across fields to cross the river again at Haylands Bridge before arriving in Hawes at the old railway station. 5.7 miles with a cumulative ascent of 470 feet.
