Our next walks from the Winter Programme 2014/15:

Saturday 7th March 2015

Our next  walks from the winter programme will be on a half day, finishing at Scorton on Saturday 7th March 2015
The ‘A’ walk will be led by Grace Green and is a circular from Scorton via Harrisend Fell on mainly field paths and bridleways with a couple of short road sections.  From Scorton we head towards Harrisend Fell via Snowhill Lane, Wyresdale Park, Clifton and Sykes Farm. On reaching the road there is a short climb onto Harrisend Fell. From here we head to Fell End and Grizedale Bridge. After a short road walk we pick up the path alongside Grizedale reservoir, which we follow to Moor House, Burns Quarry Wood and Burns Farm. We then cross Woodacre Pasture to Higher Lane and Tithe Barn Lane into Scorton.  8 miles and undulating.
The 'B' walk will be led by Norma Nicholls and is a circular from the centre of Scorton, starting with the road climb up Snow Hill to the entrance of Nicky Nook, which we climb to the trig point, descending down into Grizdale Valley, along the bridle path to Sykes Farm, Cliftons, and a short road  walk to join the footpath alongside the river Wyre back into Scorton.   7 miles.
The 'C' walk will be led by Lynne Woodhead and is a circular walk starting at the Bowling Green in Scorton, walking  gradually uphill along Tithe Barn Lane and passing Mython Hall and the Holistic Centre to Steam End.  We walk through Pedder Wood to Grizedale Brook and pass Grizedale Reservoir to Potters Hill, then follow a track past Wyresdale Lake into Wyresdale Park to a homely café and walled garden where we will stop before walking down Snowhill Lane into Scorton.  There should be lovely views of Blackpool Tower and the Lakeland Hills.  Approx 4½ miles.  There will also be the chance of a short add-on of a three-churches walk round the village of approx ½ hour for those who wish.

Non-walkers are always welcome to book on the coach.
