Welcome to the Torrisholme Church of the Ascension Rambling Club website



The purpose of the Club is to promote fellwalking and a love and respect for the countryside.

We walk every alternate Saturday.

‘A’ party leader Linda Mills is starting the walk from Ribblehead; climbing via Gauber and Colt Park to Park Fell, Simon Fell and Ingleborough. The route then decends to Black Moss Shiver, Chapel le Dale, Ellerbeck and Bruntscar then climbs again to Combe Scar and Whernside. It is then a long slow decent via the Dales Way to the Ribblehead Viaduct ending at Ribblehead. A tough walk in the time available - 12 miles, 3000 feet of ascent. .

 

‘B’ party leader Jenny Hebblethwaite  is starting at Chapel-le-Dale, past the small church and ascending to Ellerbeck and walking to Twistleton Hall where Thornton Force can be seen, before retuning to walk alongside the River Doe to Hurtle Pot, turning down Philpin Lane alongside Winterscales Beck, Gunnerfleet farm and under Ribblehead Viaduct to arrive at Ribblehead. 8 miles 1000 feet of ascent.

‘C’ party leader Anne Lyons is walking around Chapel-le-Dale then to Ellerbeck and Bruntscar, Ivescar, Winterscales, Gunnerfleet Farm, returning to Ribblehead via the Ribblehead Viaduct. 4½ miles.

RAMBLING WEEKENDS



STOCKTON-ON-TEES WEEKEND

What a brilliant weekend we had with lovely weather and good walks every day.  The food was excellent and we finished off with an excellent meal at the A66 Motel on our way home.

LLANDRINDOD WELLS WEEKEND 
23rd - 25th April 2010

Our next weekend away is to Llandrindod Wells in Wales, staying at the Glen Usk Hotel with plenty of places of interest in the surrounding area as well as excellent walking.

What a good evening we had for our first Wednesday Social.  Nice to see our members who don't come out walking now and the Hot Pot supper was delicious.  Hope you can come along to our next slide show on the 28th.  Maurice Steel always puts on a good show.
